Aussie Green Thumb.com LAUNCH
Welcome to AussieGreenThumb.com
Hello, my name is James Middleton and I want to warmly welcome you to my re-launch of AussieGreenThumb.com. Back in 2007 I started this website, offering hints, tips and traps for fellow Australian Gardeners with a particular focus on Australian Native Plants. This will still be my focus as we kick off again!
My belief is that everybody can have a good garden. At AussieGreenThumb.com I promote both gardening yourself OR hiring professionals to take care of your gardening for you. This is why my philosophy is ‘a gardening lifestyle, today and tomorrow’. What this means is I believe anyone can start to improve their garden whenever ‘today’ is, with an outlook to having an even better garden on every ‘tomorrow’. Whether this be by improving your own gardening skills OR by employing a gardener to keep things looking green is your decision.
As part of this website I myself offer gardening services. You can find out about this by going to my ‘Hire Me‘ page, linked from the top navigation bar. As my philosophy is all about a gardening lifestyle for your garden my preference for work is on-going maintenance but I am available to complete one off tasks.
This online blog section is focused on people who have decided they want to become a better green thumb and, in particular, on encouraging Australian gardeners to grow good Australian native plants. Most of my content will fall under these categories, though you can expect to read about other, various topics as well.
Click ‘Read the rest of this story’ for a snap shot of what you can look forward to @AussieGreenThumb.com.
>> Plant of the Month – each month I will feature a particular Australian native plant. Once a week I will review one species from that particular Australian Native plant. Some examples of what to expect are – Kangaroo Paw, Bottlebrush, Boronia.
>> From the Vault – this will showcase some of my old content, the best of the best. Topics like ‘why mulch’ and ‘how to prune plants’ can be expected here.
>> Gardening Guru’s – Each month I will review either a website or magazine that offers good, solid hints and tips for Australian gardeners.
>> Gardening Product Reviews – Want to buy a lawnmower but don’t know what to get? Stay tuned! Each month I will review a garden product that will help YOU improve your garden!
>> Monthly Gardening Tips – Like people a garden is a living organism. As such, a garden has a life-cycle and so there are various tasks that are good to do in a particular month. In this series I will let you know what you should be doing in your garden for any given month.
>> Nurseries of Australia – One thing that can make or break a garden is the quality of plants. Sometimes good nurseries are hard to come by but not any more. In this series I will review some of the better nurseries from around Australia that specialise in the sale and propagation of Australian Native Plants.
>> What’s that mean? – So you are trying to improve your gardening skill but whenever you talk to someone about gardening they seem to be speaking a different language? This is the series for you because in it I will be defining and explaining some common and also not so common gardening terms.
>> My Gardening Story – I want AussieGreenThumb.com to be more than just a website, I want it to be a like a community garden on the internet! As part of this, throughout the year I will be sharing my gardening story with you. This will include significant people from my life, significant gardening events and other various tidbits.
This is just some of what you can expect from AussieGreenThumb.com, stay tuned for much, much more!
If you like the sound of this then the BEST thing you can do right now is subscribe to my feed which can be done by clicking EITHER on the orange image to your left OR on the top right hand side of my page.
